Office to Residential Conversion
WELLING PARTNERSHIP is delighted to have recently completed works on a 9-storey office to apartments conversion, in the centre of Twickenham, in the London Borough of Richmond-upon-Thames, on behalf of Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing.
The project involved the refurbishment and conversion of an existing 1960’s 9-storey Office Block into residential apartments under permitted development, together with new build infill to reflect the existing Victorian street scene. In total the completed development provided a total of 45 modern and high-quality apartments for Shared Ownership & Affordable Rent and with several of the apartments benefitting from spectacular views across south London.
Acting as Employer’s Agent, Cost Consultant and Principal Designer Welling Partnership successfully steered the project through a competitively tendered Design & Build procurement process and assisted our client with complex enabling negotiations with telecom providers in relation to the extensive existing telecoms site located on the roof of the 9-storey block.
This challenging project was awarded to Thomas Sinden Ltd (Principal Contractor) who successfully managed the complex logistical and access constraints of the site as well the blend of trades required to deliver the conversion/refurbishment works with new build Victorian style homes all within designated Conservation Area.
