Regeneration of former MOD housing built in the 1960’s which had been neglected for decades due to lack of financial investment contributing to social deprivation. The Rowner Renewal Partnership formed by five key agencies including the Local Council, First Wessex, The Homes and Communities Agency and Taylor Wimpey to facilitate a shared vision to regenerate the area through high quality and sustainable homes for local people. This involved demolishing 501 No. substandard units and the development of 700 units of which approximately 240 No. units are mixed tenure affordable housing. The regeneration has been phased over a 10 year period and is due for completion in 2017. In addition to the new housing the regeneration has delivered a new Tesco store and a range of retail units including a Costa Coffee.
Welling Partnership was appointed to represent First Wessex on the Affordable Housing element of the scheme
