CDM Co-Ordinator

The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 came into force on the 6 April 2007 replacing the earlier CDM Regulations. The latest CDM regulations have enhanced and made the statutory Clients’ duties more explicit in recognition of the fact that Clients have a major influence in setting the tone of a project in relation to health and safety.

Therefore if you are thinking of undertaking any design or construction works including demolition then the Regulations will place a number of specific duties on you. Our role and the range of services we offer as CDM Co-ordinator is to help you understand the statutory implications and provide you with the necessary advice and assistance to discharge your duties.

Welling has corporate and individual membership of the Association for Project Safety (APS) and is included in the APS Register of CDM Co-ordinators. Inclusion on the Register is by examination and is one of the ways to satisfy the competency assessments that Clients are required to undertake prior to appointing a CDM Co-ordinator. Our areas of service are summarised below:

  • Full CDM Co-ordinator duties
  • Act as Client advisor on CDM matters
  • Assist Clients with assessing competencies and appointments (designers/contractors)
  • Assess implications of project safety and ‘green ’ / sustainability issues
  • Add long term value through safer buildings and reduced maintenance costs
  • Co-ordination of design risk avoidance and mitigation
  • Advice on Health and Safety File document management, retention and use
  • Tailored seminars and workshops on CDM Regulations
